Products

DomeShelter™ Structures are fully-engineered Fabric Shelters. They are composed of a heavy-duty Fabric Tarp stretched over a dome-shaped steel frame to form a Roof Structure. This is then mounted onto shipping containers, posts, concrete walls, or a range of other custom substructures, to form a Shelter.
Fabric Shelters are a durable alternative to more traditional Structure types, offering strength and stability combined with quick and easy installation and dismantle, relocatability, easy customisation, and cost-effectiveness.

Engineered to Protect® is our main tagline at DomeShelter Australia. It is our central promise to all clients – that the solution they are receiving meets the most rigorous standards and will keep their people and assets safe in all conditions.
DomeShelter™ Structures are compliant and fully certified, designed to stand the test of time by a dedicated and experienced in-house team.

A ‘substructure’, also called a ‘mounting option’, is the base onto which the Roof Structure is installed to form a full Shelter.
Sea Containers and Steel Posts are the two most common Fabric Shelter substructures. They can also be mounted on a combination of containers and posts, on concrete walls, or a range of custom mounting solutions.
Our Standard Range, available for purchase online, are designed for either container or post mounting ONLY. For an alternative, custom solution, visit our Solutions site or contact the team directly.

Mounting Rails are used on DomeShelter™ Structures to connect the arched roof structure to the base or substructure it is mounted on. Common substructures include shipping containers or steel posts. The mounting rail is one of the most important elements of a DomeShelter™ Structure, ensuring the arched roof frame is correctly attached to the substructure and its weight load is evenly distributed.
At DomeShelter Australia we offer the following Mounting options:
Welded Brackets: Industry Standard and the least expensive option, involving separate, individual brackets welded at intervals along the sea container. Not recommended for for regions with extremely rigorous conditions.
Welded Mounting Rail: Welded Mounting Rails are one solid, continuous rail, prefabricated off-site with the roof beam attachment points distributed along the rail. The rail is then welded onto the container at intervals, resulting in one solid connecting point between the substructure and the roof for improved load bearing and structural integrity. We recommend this solution to most clients.
Boltlock Mounting Rail: Boltlock Mounting Rails are mounting rails fabricated with attachment points that are then bolted to the substructure on-site when the structure is installed. They involve a high-level of pre-fabrication before the Shelter is sent to site, meaning there is no need for on-site welding, and installation times are dramatically decreased. Boltlock Mounting Rails are recommended for clients who wish to relocate their Shelter one or more times after initial installation. They are quick and easy to disassemble for better movability, as the bolts simply have to be taken out and the Shelter is then ready to be easily packed down and relocated.

Our DomeShelter™ Kits available for quick order online do not come with sea containers or steel posts. For all-inclusive Project Scopes, visit our Solutions site.

‘Endwalls’ are a common feature added to many Fabric Shelters. Constructed from the same Polyethylene fabric as the roof, they are used to enclose one or both ends of the structure or provide partial enclosure as an added measure against the elements.

Most DomeShelter™ Structures are installed by the clients themselves, following comprehensive instructions that are provided with every Shelter purchase.
External teams can also be contracted, for clients who are unable or would prefer not to install the Shelter themselves. For a list of recommended, trusted DomeShelter™ Installers, contact the team today.

‘Wind region’ refers to the classification of different regions, based on wind speeds and frequency of extreme weather events experienced in those areas. Within Australia, Wind Regions have been determined according to the Australian Standards AS1170.2:2021 Structural Design Actions.
Wind speed is an important factor in the planning and building of any new structure, including Fabric Shelters. It influences the design and engineering specifications of the proposed Structure.

Clients within Australia can determine their wind region by viewing the map on our Wind Regions Page. Get in touch with our experienced team if you have any questions or confusion and they will assist.

We currently offer a small range of parts and accessories for purchase online, including simple hold-down options, tarp repair tape, and more. For more complex project scopes, visit our Solutions website.

There can be a misconception about Fabric Shelters and their price range, due to people mistaking them for more temporary solutions such as marquees. DomeShelter™ Structures are compliant, fully engineered Structures, manufactured 100% in Australia using high-grade Australian steel and heavy-duty Fabric Tarp.
The DomeShelter™ Purpose is to protect people and assets from the harmful effects of the elements, and trust is one of our core values. We can’t deliver on that promise with an inferior product. We believe it is more important to provide a consistently durable, proven product that is Engineered to Protect®
